30th Anniversary of Australia joining the global internet

It has been 30 years since Australia joined the global internet on June 23, 1989 – via a connection made by the University of Melbourne which was mostly used by computer scientists.  And the newly created world wide web was just three months old and largely unknown. The ABS Household Internet Access survey results for 2016-17 showed how much it had grown with 86% of households had access to the internet at home. Read more here.
