Marcia Williams - Executive Director
Marcia’s job as the Executive Director of WCHM is to make sure we are meeting the goals set out in our Strategic Plan, take care of the organisation’s finances, supervise staff and students and generally make sure everything is running smoothly! Before joining WCHM, Marcia had various roles as a senior manager in the private and Government sectors, most recently in Centrelink where she worked closely with community organisations and peak bodies to oversee the delivery of Centrelink’s services.

Mwa Mwanangwa
Mwa joined the WCHM in 2009 as a student to conduct research with Sudanese women in the ACT. Her project looked at how Sudanese women in the ACT access and utilise health services and what can be done to address any gaps in this area. A report outlining the results of her research will be published soon.

Wendy (Hui) Zeng - Administration Officer
Wendy joined the WCHM as the Administration Officer. Wendy’s job is the provide support to the WCHM Board and Executive Director and to oversee the smooth running of the office. Kate Judd - Project Worker (Mental Health)
Kate has joined WCHM in the new position of Project Worker (Mental Health). Kate’s projects include looking at the needs for and experiences of peer support for women living with a mental illness in the ACT, and using this information to develop and evaluate two sustainable peer support programs. Kate will also be working with the ACT Women and Mental Health Working Group to develop processes for seeking input from women living with a mental health issue, and working with the mental health community sector peak bodies to co-ordinate in the planning, provision and evaluation of women’s mental health services and to ensure that women’s mental health issues are raised in a variety of fora.

Angela Carnovale - Social Research Officer
Angela joined WCHM in 2009 as the Social Research Officer. In this position Angela will lead and develop the Centre's research agenda on issues affecting women's health. Angela is currently working on a research project identifying how women in the ACT access information about health and well being and will continue the centre’s work in health promotion. Angela also provides research support for other projects underway at the centre. Angela recently graduated from ANU with a Bachelor of Arts/Asian Studies, where she pursued her passion for South Asian religions and politics and anthropology. She is also a bellydance teacher and relishes in harnessing positive relationships between women and their bodies through dance. Through bellydance Angela continues to unravel the complex issues of cultural exchange, women’s well being and representations of femininity, which she hopes to bring to her work at the centre.

Robyn Taranto - Project Worker
Robyn joined WCHM to work on a 6 month project working with women from emerging CALD communities to help support ACT women's services to develop a cound knowledge of new emerging cultural groups in Canberra. She is working closely with Multicultural Women's Advocacy ACT and CIT to develop the project.

Sigrid Christiansen
Sigrid is researching the profile of women in the ACT who are ‘Forgotten Australians’, developing an understanding of the impact on these women now living in the community who have lived in institutions, and investigating their barriers to social inclusion and the issues relating to their health and wellbeing.
