OUR STRATEGIC PLAN
The WCHM Strategic Plan focuses on four key areas of work for 2008-2012 – unmet need, social isolation and social connectedness, increasing women’s access to gender-sensitive health and wellbeing information and prevention of violence against women. There is strong evidence pointing to the negative effects of factors such as poverty, lack of relevant information, social isolation and the experience of violence on women’s health and wellbeing. Therefore, WCHM believes that the focus on these four key areas of work will further assist women in enhancing their health and wellbeing. It will also assist health related services in their responsiveness to ACT women’s needs.
The WCHM Strategic Plan outlines the intended outcomes for each area of work and the strategies to achieve them. There is a significant program of work, which will only be achieved through collaboration and effective partnering; and by prioritising what WCHM does and what we cease to do. It is intended that the Plan, whilst remaining faithful to the intended outcomes, is flexible in terms of varying strategies, actions and timelines in order to best respond to new knowledge and a dynamic environment.
