Nicole O’Callaghan - WWDACT Policy/Admin Officer
After completing her Bachelor of Arts with a major in Political Science at the University of New England in 2008, Nicole was looking for new challenges. She transferred to Canberra during 2009 Where she was the Communications Officer for Physical Disability Australia Ltd. she then moved to the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations in the Participation Analysis section and is now working for WWDACT. Nicole is also a part-time Research Assistant in the Office of Senator Sue Boyce (when Parliament sits), and is Secretary of People With Disabilities ACT and the women with disabilities ACT representative on the ACT Council of Social Services general committee. She has a wealth of experience in the community and government sector in both the policy and administration and aims to develop a stronger, more effective voice for women with disabilities in the ACT.

Emilia Della Torre—Policy/Project Officer for Women with Disabilities ACT
Emilia’s job as the part-time Policy/Project Officer of WWDACT is to work with the WCHM team, the WWDACT Management Committee, Disability ACT and women with disabilities in the ACT to make sure the issues for women with disabilities in the ACT are identified and represented! Her activities will also focus on empowering women with disabilities to increase control over their lives and to realise their aspirations.
Before joining WWDACT, Emilia worked as a human rights lawyer in both the government and non-government sectors. Most recently, Emilia has worked as a legal academic and consultant specialising in discrimination law and international human rights law and policy issues.
