November 25th marked an important milestone in Australia, with new laws coming into effect under the National Domestic Violence Order Scheme. Under the scheme, domestic violence orders will be automatically recognised and enforced across state and territory lines. This will enable victims to move interstate without the requirement to register interstate orders and will assist them in moving forward and building a new life while reducing the risk of alerting perpetrator to their new location.
