MapJam: helping women eat healthy and be active

Women’s Centre for Health Matters invites you to the launch of our report, Physical activity and healthy eating promotion to ACT women: A guide to getting it right.

Women in the ACT care about their health, yet find it difficult to participate in healthy behaviours like healthy eating and physical activity. They want health promotion that helps them find strategies to overcome their barriers to good health.

WCHM are hosting a MAPJAM workshop and morning tea. With your help, we will map suitable physical activity and healthy eating services and supports for women in the ACT.

To participate, all you need is to contribute what you know about useful services. These might be food banks or farmers markets, free cooking classes, exercise groups or community gyms, programs to help with the cost of team sports, dance groups, community gardens… what else do you know about?

The end result will be an online map showing useful services that you can share with your clients or networks.

Where: WCHM offices in Pearce (Building 1, Pearce Community Centre).

When: 10am to 12pm on Wednesday the 12th of December

RSVP by Tuesday 11th December with your dietary requirements to admin@wchm.org.au or phone 6290 2166.
