New App for women with disability who experience violence

A new App, called ‘Sunny’, has been developed by 1800RESPECT to help women with disability to have improved access to information and support about violence and abuse.

Sunny uses easy to read language to explain different forms of violence, and interactive stories are available which guide users through scenarios that can help them recognise violence. And an innovative custom keyboard helps women with disability to communicate their own experiences.

Sunny supports women with disability to take action by calling a 1800RESPECT counsellor directly or via the National Relay Service or National Translation and Interpreter service. Sunny can also help users to call 000 if they are in immediate danger.

The Sunny app is free and available for iPhone and Android users.
