Resources for Services
This section of the website includes a variety of resources for providers of services to ACT women. They have been created through WCHM projects and research. We will continue to add resources as they are created.
Women living with mental health issues
WCHM research conducted in 2011 shows that peer support is an effective tool for women living with mental health issues in the ACT, to increase their mental wellbeing, confidence and social connectedness. This resource was developed to aid women and service providers to navigate the available options for accessing peer support in the ACT.

Refugee women
The following resources were developed by the Southern Sudanese and Burmese Mon women who participated in the WCHM project Cultural Awareness Training - New and emerging communities. This was a unique program based on the lived experiences of the refugee women and communities taking ownership of their culture, with the intention that this approach would add value to how ACT services engage with their communities.

Women with disabilities
These resources were created from the findings of the WCHM project Women with Disabilities Accessing Crisis Services in the ACT, which aimed to assist domestic violence/crisis services in the ACT to better support women with disabilities. The project included auditing the services’ accessibility for women with disabilities, identifying the barriers and gaps, and developing a set of good practice principles for improving access for women with disabilities.
