Having a Baby in Canberra (HABIC)
These information sessions outline choices available to women and their partners when planning a pregnancy or in the early stages of pregnancy in the ACT. The same information is presented at each session. If you are unable to attend one evening hopefully you are available for the alternative evening. There is no cost, however bookings are necessary. Please ring 6290 2166 or email admin@wchm.org.au to book a place in our next session.

Service Provider Information
WCHM regularly surveys female GPs in the ACT to ascertain interests, specialities and practice information. The Centre also collects information on a range of health service providers in the ACT, eg where to go for a pap smear or breast screening.

Internet Hub
WCHM has a number of computers available for women to surf the net and/ use for general computer/word processing work Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.
Femme Friday!
WCHM holds Pamper Evenings to celebrate women's health and well-being. They are held every second month on a Friday between 5.30-8.30pm at WCHM (Building 1, Pearce Community Centre, Collett Place, Pearce ACT).

Each session has a different theme relevant to women's health and wellbeing, and will wherever possible, include a guest speaker. These events seek to provide an opportunity for women from varying backgrounds to meet in a relaxed, non threatening environment and provide an opportunity to improve women's health and wellbeing through activities such as massage, yoga, belly dancing and information sharing. Women are welcome to bring their children, however, child care is not provided. Entry is free or by gold coin donation, and RSVP is preferred.
Computer Course for Cantonese and Mandarin Speaking Women
A basic computer skills course for Cantonese and Mandarin speaking women will be held at WCHM over 5 sessions, commencing 21 July and ending 18 August 2008.

Wellbeing Women's Group

Multicultural Mother's Support Group
A community group for all mothers, single mothers and grandmothers. This group meets fortnightly on a THURSDAY at the Mura Lanyon Youth and Community Centre in Conder and share activities such as art and craft, cooking and parenting information. SAWs - Support Asian Women's Association Inc.
SAWs formerly called Support Asian Mothers Friendship Group (SAMs), is an organisation for all women, especially those from Asian backgrounds, providing fun activities, friendship, women's information and support. SAWs meets fortnightly on a WEDNESDAY and you are invited to share lunch at the conclusion of the meeting. On the last meeting of each month there will be a free exercise class held at the YMCA in Chifley until December 2008. Children are welcome and a childminding service is available.
