Do you want to help ensure that ACT women’s voices and issues are heard? The Women’s Centre for Health Matters has worked for 30 years to improve the health and wellbeing of women in the ACT through our advocacy, social research, and health promotion – you can help us to continue informing local policies and services, and advocating for women in the ACT!

Now is your chance! Following International Women’s Day, Canberra’s first ever ‘Hands Up for Canberra Giving Day’ will take place on March 11th. For 24 hours starting at 9:00 am all donations made to WCHM:  will be DOUBLED!

If you have ever considered supporting and donating to a local women’s organisation, this is a perfect opportunity to maximise your support by giving to WCHM!

And you can help us by sharing this information with your friends and networks using #handsup4cbr.  On this day there are extra prizes of $500 – $1000 for WCHM if we have the most unique donations throughout the campaign and during specific times of the day. Check out our facebook page to see our posts and see below the ways in which your donations can help provide more funds to WCHM:

  • An extra $1000 for the most unique donations made to a small or medium charity throughout the day
  • An extra $1000 should WCHM receive the most unique donations between 9 am – 10 am
  • An extra $1000 to WCHM should our posts on Facebook receive the most Likes and Shares between 12 pm – 2 pm  during Lunch hour mania!
  • An extra $500 to WCHM should we receive the happiest message on a donation by a donor made between 5pm – 7pm
  • An extra $1000 should WCHM receive the most unique donations between 9 pm – 10 pm

Women in the ACT still experience inequality in many areas of their lives, so help us continue to change that and join us on the 11th to help raise funds to continue our work for Canberra women.
