AIDS Action Council ACT (AAC)

Due to the corona virus AAC have closed up shop at Havelock House but still are still contactable via phone, email and face to face appointment (although this may change with restrictions). They are still working hard to ensure that you have the support you need during this difficult time. They are contactable for all enquires including Needle and Syringe Program equipment, safe sex products, information and resources.

For HIV care and support please call 02 6257 2855 or 0438 623 101.

For the sex worker outreach program, please contact the SWOP team at or 0427 475 671.

Canberra Health Services is currently reducing non-essential, non-urgent activity across all its services in efforts to relieve pressure on the health system and to reduce the spread of COVID-19.  Canberra Sexual Health Centre is now appointment only. CSHC is not able to run a walk-in service at this time and can provide urgent/ essential care only.  Please see your GP for non-urgent and non-essential sexual health care.

To make an appointment with CSHC, please call 5124 2184. You will be asked for your details, and connected with a clinician first.

Please do not go to Canberra Sexual Health Clinic if;

– you have returned from overseas in the last 14 days

– you have a fever, cough, sore throat, cold, flu or diarrhoea

– you are a contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19

Sexual health services:

  • STI (sexually transmissible infection) screening, when you do not have any symptoms
  • Initial PrEP consultation (new clients)
  • Follow up PrEP (continuing clients)

Menopause Centre Canberra:

  • Initial menopause consultations for new clients
  • Follow up menopause for continuing clients

Contraception and reproductive health services:

  • Repeat contraceptive pill prescriptions for existing clients

Their staff will assist you to make an appointment with their doctors/nurses, or refer you to other clinicians as appropriate. Online bookings with specific doctors are available here.
