Last week the Australian Bureau of Statistics released new data from its Personal Safety Survey 2016. The data features many valuable insights into Australian’s experience of violence in a range of contexts, and highlights the importance of continuing national efforts to reduce violence against women. According to the survey, more women are experiencing sexual violence and harassment, and there has been no significant change in rates of partner violence. Pending further analysis of the findings, ANROWS has compiled some of the significant findings into fact sheet, which can be found here.
