Support for pregnant women and those giving birth

In the midst of the COVID-19 isolation we know that there are many pregnant women and mums-to-be who have been feeling anxious about the impacts of COVID-19 on their care.

There are a range of supports that have been introduced to ensure that women are supported and safe including new ways of delivering services, including the use of telephone and the Telehealth Platform which allows for face-to-face health care in a digital format. You can find out more about the changes that Canberra Health Services for have put in place here.  They have also released a video for mothers giving birth soon – the link is here.

Canberra Health Service has also launched a Pregnancy and Early Parenting Support Line. If you are looking for information and support, it is a one stop shop for all your pregnancy and parenting concerns. Call 5124 1775 and leave a voicemail with your name, contact number and reason for the call and a health professional will be in touch with you within one business day.

Calvary Public Hospital Bruce Maternity Unit has released information about the measures they have in place during COVID19 for providing care for women and their babies, antenatally, during birth and postnatally. And they have prepared a video tour of the Calvary birthing and inpatient facilities, as well as information about Maternity Access and Visitor arrangements.
