A new Walk-in Centre opened in Dickson on 26 August, providing free treatment to Inner North residents for one-off illnesses and injuries such as:
- common illnesses, like cold and flu
- cuts and bruises
- minor infections and wounds
- strains and sprains
- skin conditions and rashes.
The Inner North Walk-in Centre, which is part of the Dickson Community Health Centre redevelopment, is located at 111 Dickson Place and is open from 7.30am to 10pm every day, including public holidays, and appointments are not required. The Centre, will employ 16 nurses and four administrative staff. The facility will also offer access to podiatry and maternal and child health services.
The Centre is ACT’s fifth Walk-in Centre and joins those already opened at Tuggeranong, Weston Creek, West Belconnen and Gungahlin. More than 282,000 patients have been treated at the four centres since 2014, with 67,000 presenting last year alone.
